IT Services at the Department
IT Support Organization
IT support needs within the department arise at different levels. Depending on the situation, different organizational units are responsible:
Research Group → Institute / Laboratory → Department → ETH Central IT (ID)
IT‑related challenges are usually handled first by the Power Users within each research group. They serve as the first point of contact for IT problems and questions. If an issue cannot be resolved at the group level, the Power Users forward the request to the IT Coordinators (IK) of the respective institute or departmental unit.If further escalation is required, the IKs pass the request on to the IT Services Group (ISG) or – in cases involving central services – to the ETH IT Services (ID).
