Prof. Kovalenko (LAC) and Prof. Leroux (IPW) are in Clarivate's list of Highly Cited Researchers 2018. During the last decade, they have produced multiple highly cited papers, which are defined as those ranking in the top 1% by citations for a publication field and year.
Prof. Kovalenko receives ERC Consolidator Grant
Prof Maksym Kovalenko receives an ERC consolidator grant for his research on metal halides. In his project, he uses chemical engineering approaches to broadly tune the optical properties of these materials. The aim is to develop various forms of non-toxic light sources, including nanocrystals, thin films and composites, for a wide range of applications.

This year's Golden Owl award goes to Dr. Rolf Heusser. Every year the students decide who is given this award to honor lecturers of each department for their excellent teaching abilities.

Prof. Markus Reiher receives the Credit Suisse Award for Best Teaching 2018. The award is given to previous winners of the Golden Owl and promotes quality teaching at tertiary level.

Javier Pérez-Ramírez receives the 2019 Paul H. Emmett Award in Fundamental Catalysis which recognizes individual contributions in the field of catalysis with emphasis on discovery and understanding of catalytic phenomena.
