Hs. H. Günthard Master Scholarship
The Günthard Foundation offers scholarships for Master students of Chemistry or Interdisciplinary Sciences with a proven interest in physical chemistry.
Prof. Hs. H. Günthard was the founder of the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of ETH Zurich. The maximum grant contribution will be CHF 22,000 for the entire Master program.
Requirements
To be an eligible candidate, you should be an excellent Bachelor student enrolled in either the Chemistry or Interdisciplinary Sciences program at D–CHAB, ETH Zurich, with outstanding results both in the first-year examinations ("Basisprüfung") and in your 2nd year of studies (60 credits). Another requirement is a particular interest in physical chemistry. Only studies at ETH Zurich are funded by the scholarship. Please note that the Hans H. Günthard Master Scholarship is an excellence scholarship and it is therefore not allowed to be accumulated with other excellence scholarships.

The scholarship application has to be written in English and sent for the attention of the Günthard Foundation to: Sara Zimmermann, IMPS/LPC, ETH Zürich, Vladimir-Prelog-Weg 2 / HCI E 201, 8093 Zürich. Panel
In compliance with the foundation rules, a panel will select the recipients of the scholarships. The panel presently consists of Prof. Dr. Beat H. Meier, Prof. Dr. Frédéric Merkt, Prof. Dr. Ruth Signorell, and Prof. Dr. Jeremy Richardson.
Dates
The deadline for applications for a Master scholarship of the academic year 2024/2025 is May 31, 2024. Only complete applications submitted by the deadline will be considered! The decision of the panel will be sent out in writing to the applicants approximately two months after the application deadline.
