Honorary Membership of the GDCh for Prof. François Diederich

On 16 March 2019, the German Chemical Society (Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker, GDCh) bestowed Prof. Dr. François Diederich with their highest recognition, Honorary Membership.

In commemoration of becoming Honorary Member, Wiley-VCH has assembled external pagea special collection of Prof. Diederich’s work published in Angewandte Chemie, Chemistry - A European Journal, ChemMedChem, and the European Journal of Organic Chemistry. Prof. Diederich has published more than 100 articles in Angewandte Chemie along and previously served as on the Editorial Board (1995–2013, Chair from 2004–2013). He also served on the board of the GDCh from 2008–2015.

The highest award granted by the GDCh is the Honorary Membership. The GDCh, founded in 1949, first awarded such memberships in 1952 and has bestowed a further forty Honorary Memberships since then. Among the Honorary Members are outstanding chemists such as Otto Hahn, Robert B. Woodward, Jean-Marie Lehn, George A. Olah and Gerhard Ertl.
