Additional information
Massimo Morbidelli has been full Professor of Chemical Reaction Engineering in the Chemical Engineering Laboratory since November 1, 1995.
Prof. Morbidelli was born on March 12, 1954 in Vercelli, Italy. He took his degree in chemical engineering at the Politecnico, Milan, in 1977 and earned his doctorate under Professor Arvind Varma in 1986 at Notre Dame University, on a grant from NATO. While doing his doctoral work, he was a scientific staff member under Professor Sergio Carrà at the Politecnico in Milan. In 1986 he was appointed professor of dynamics and control in chemical processes at the University of Cagliari, where until November 1990 he was chairman of the chemistry department. He then returned to the Politecnico as professor of applied physical chemistry. The major emphasis of his research is on chemical reaction engineering and separation processes.
Massimo Morbidelli is co-author of a book entitled "Mathematical Methods for Chemical Engineers", published in 1997 at Oxford University Press. He is member of the technical council for chemical engineering publications at Cambridge University Press and on the scientific committee of several international scientific journals. He is also a scientific advisor for the European Commission on Chemical Engineering.
