Prof. Dr. Paul S. Pregosin was born on October 26, 1943 in the United States and received his Ph. D. in 1970 at the City University of New York. He carried out postdoctoral research at Queen Mary College, University of London (1970 - 1971), and at the University of Delaware (1971 - 1973), before coming to the ETH in 1973. In 1980, he received the Werner Prize for his work in the "Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy of Transition Metal Complexes" and in 1987 he was given the title of Professor in Inorganic Chemistry. His research interests include: The Coordination and Organometallic Chemistry of the Transition Metals, Enantioselective Homogeneous Catalysis, and Applications of Multinuclear NMR Spectroscopy to Problems in Organometallic Chemistry.
