Behringer Simon Lecture

The Behringer Simon lecture is an annual student-invited lecture series organized by a committee of graduate students representing all research groups of the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry (LOC) at the ETH. It could be established due to a generous donation by a former graduate student. Once a year, all PhD students of the LOC suggest and vote for speakers they would like to listen to. The committee invites accordingly a speaker for the academic and industry lecture respectively.

The lecture comprises of a two day visit to the ETH Zürich. The lecture is given on a Monday afternoon, followed by an apero. PhD students of the LOC are invited to lunch and committee members to dinner with the speaker. The speaker is further visiting all the research groups of the LOC during his visit.

In previous years we were pleased to welcome numerous academic speaker: Prof. Barry M. Trost (2002), Prof. Eric N. Jacobsen (2003), Prof. Chaitan Koshla (2004), Prof. Steven V.
