Teaching Assistants (Hilfsassistent:innen) in Physical Chemistry for the following courses:

Spring semester 2025:

529-0012-01 Physikalische Chemie I: Thermodynamik
Prof. Dr. Alexander Barnes
workload: 30 hours per month (105 hours for the semester)

529-0430-00 / 529-0054-01 / 529-0074-00 Praktikum Physikalische Chemie

workload: 40 hours per month (135 hours for the semester)

529-1025-00 Physikalische Chemie für Pharmazeutische Wissenschaften

Study Center Chemie (place to go for students with questions regarding the basic classes in physical chemistry)
workload: 3 hours per week
starts in the second semester week, weekly date and time to be announced

As teaching assistant, the hourly wage for all courses is 30.70 CHF. There will be a postdoctoral researcher as head assistant (except for the Study Center). You will be given an introduction and access to all lecture notes, exercise class questions and exercise class answers before the start of the course.

You should be fluent in German and English, familiar with basic chemistry and able to prepare for and teach the exercise sections. You must have passed your first-year exams as a minimum, with exception to the Study Center for which we decidedly are looking for 3rd year bachelor or master students. You must be a master or undergraduate student at the ETH or UZH (ETH applicants will be given priority).
