Prof. Dr. Bernhard Jaun
After studies in chemistry at ETH Lausanne and ETH Zurich, Bernhard Jaun obtained his Ph.D from ETH Zurich working under the supervision of A. Eschenmoser and J.F.M Oth. After a two year stay as a postdoctoral fellow in R. Breslow's group at Columbia University, New York, he returned to ETH Zurich where he started his own research group in 1989. Head of the NMR-facility of the laboratory for organic chemistry from 1983 to 2013.
Senior lecturer in physical organic chemistry since 1991. Promoted to honorary professor in 1996. He taught courses in 1st year organic chemistry, advanced NMR, and advanced physical organic chemistry. Recipient of the Silver Medal of ETH Zurich and the Werner Prize of the Swiss Chemical Society.
Bernhard Jaun's main scientific interests are in the area of physical organic chemistry and its application to problems relevant in Biology.
